Recently, employees volunteered their time at the Regional Foodbank of Northeastern New York.
The Regional Foodbank has been helping to feed the poor and hungry in northeastern New York since 1982. The Food Bank collects large donations of food from the food industry and distributes it to charitable agencies serving hungry and disadvantaged people in 23 counties of Northeastern New York.
Regarding her experience, Support Services Coordinator Danielle Bruso noted, “It’s always nice when we can take a second to learn more about volunteer opportunities available in our community. The food pantry is so critical to reallocating food to families and groups of people that, sometimes, struggle between paying for housing and putting food on the table. Being a part of the process that alleviates the need to make those decisions is always special. The actual process of volunteering was really fun and easy. Everyone just kind of jumped in where they were needed and started filling boxes. It was a great experience and I would encourage anyone interested in volunteering to check out their website for more information about ways they can help."
